David James Lofthouse

David joined the firm of Horwath & Horwath, (now Grant Thornton) in 1985 from the Office of the Official Receiver in Bankruptcy (now Insolvency and Trustee Service Australia) where he held the position of Assistant Official Receiver. David undertook the administration of the full range of insolvency administrations. In addition, he was concerned in running the litigation support area of the firm which specialised in the investigation and quantification of claims under various heads including matrimonial and fraud actions.


In 1987 David joined the specialist insolvency firm of Ferrier Hodgson & Co., Chartered Accountants, as a manager, where he was concerned mainly with the administration of all personal insolvencies being handled by the firm. He also undertook the administration of a range of jobs including a number of special investigations involving professionals.


In 1989 David joined the firm of Peat Marwick Hungerfords (now KPMG) as a manager in their Insolvency Division. During his time at KPMG, David undertook a range of administrations and was also concerned with a number of special investigations, including investigations on behalf of the Law Institute of Victoria regarding claims against the Solicitors Guarantee Fund.


In October 1990 David joined Mann Judd as senior manager. In this position he was involved in the overall administration of the division as well as being actively concerned with the running of the various administrations to hand.


In January 1992 David became a partner in the Insolvency Division of Mann Judd. In January 2000 the firm of HLB Mann Judd was acquired by Stockford Limited, a listed company was in the process of consolidating some 50 accounting practices. Upon this occurring, David became a principal in the Insolvency Division of Stockford Limited.


In July 2002, David and Richard left Stockford Limited to form CJL Partners Pty Ltd.


David is registered both as a liquidator and trustee in bankruptcy
