Richard commenced his involvement in this area of accounting while he was attached to the Office of the Official Receiver in Bankruptcy (now Insolvency and Trustee Service Australia). He left the Official Receivers Office in 1987 (where he had held the position of Assistant Official Receiver) to join the specialist insolvency firm of Ferrier Hodgson & Co., Chartered Accountants where he undertook a wide range of assignments including a number of "trade on" matters of a significant size for the major banks.
In October 1989 Richard was recruited to the firm of Parkhill Lithgow & Gibson (now BDO Nelson Parkhill) in their Corporate Recovery and Insolvency division. In the time that Richard was at BDO he undertook and was responsible for conducting a range of matters including providing advice on the reconstruction of a number of large national organisations and some significant court appointed assignments. Richard was also instrumental in administering the largest bankruptcy in Australia at that time.
In July 1996 Richard joined Mann Judd as a Director of the Insolvency division and was responsible for the overall operation of the administrative functions of the department and the overseeing of the various assignments carried out.
Upon the acquisition of Mann Judd by Stockford Limited, Richard became a principal in the Insolvency Division of Stockford Limited.
In July 2002, David and Richard left Stockford Limited to form CJL Partners Pty Ltd.
Richard is registered as a Liquidator.
